PROJECT SUMMARY

Longtime Durham residents, our clients approached retirement ready for a fresh chapter—one rooted in the community they loved, but shaped by a new perspective on home. They partnered with architect Tony Frazier to build a contemporary retreat nestled along the greens and lakes of Treyburn Country Club.

  • Airy and filled with light, the home’s clean lines and glass walls invited a design response that felt equally open, intentional, and refined.

While the clients confidently selected furnishings for private spaces, Hue was brought in to design the public-facing rooms—specifically the living area, dining room, and an office visible through large interior glass windows. Our task: to strike a balance between lived-in luxury and architectural clarity. The palette is calm and warm, layered with classic materials and textures that feel timeless yet easy. Pieces were chosen for their beauty as well as their practicality—including streamlined recliners for movie nights that don’t compromise the room’s elegance.

The result is a home that welcomes both quiet moments and gatherings with friends—tailored for everyday comfort, yet sophisticated enough for celebration.
